AthletiCo’s Career Fair Impacts Job Seekers

On Saturday, October 20, AthletiCo will host its 2007 Fall Career Fair showcasing the physical therapy career opportunities that AthletiCo has to offer. This will be the second of two career fairs AthletiCo hosts throughout the year. AthletiCo Career Fairs offers physical therapy job seekers the opportunity to meet with a current manager for a personal interview as well as mingle with current clinical staff during a meet and greet session. Many current AthletiCo employees will attest that the people they met and the information presented at the career fair solidified their decisions to join the AthletiCo team.

When Jon Fibeger, PT, Willowbrook, was finishing up PT school, he received an email from a fellow alumnus who had started working for AthletiCo the year before. The email encouraged Fibeger to attend AthletiCo’s upcoming career fair to learn more about the company’s services and benefits. As Fibeger was looking to relocate to the Chicago area but knew little about what Chicago had to offer, he was excited to learn of AthletiCo’s Career Fair.

By attending the career fair, Fibeger was able to receive promotional materials and ask questions about AthletiCo, its history, programs, benefits, and its numerous locations. Fibeger also benefited by learning about AthletiCo’s affiliations with Chicago’s professional sports teams and fine arts companies, as well special interest committees that he could become involved in—endurance or golf for example. “Through these special interest programs I could provide coverage at the Chicago Marathon or at a golf championship,” says Fibeger. “I would also be able to attend lectures by experts on the subject at the special interest and program meetings.”

In addition to hearing all about the services and benefits AthletiCo provides, it was the opportunity to meet and talk to current AthletiCo employees that proved invaluable. “I really enjoyed meeting the current employees and managers because I was able to get an accurate idea of what AthletiCo was all about,” says Fibeger. “They were able to give me honest answers about the company and showed excitement in getting to know more about me and learning what I would be able to contribute to the company.”

Kate Knight, PT, MPT, CSCS, is another AthletiCo employee who attended the career fair before joining the company. Knight says that it was at the career fair that she decided that AthletiCo was where she wanted to work.  “What most impressed me about AthletiCo were the different areas that you could get involved in,” says Knight. “They had many affiliations and different programs, and I had trouble picking just a couple to pursue.”

If you are a student, new grad, or a practicing clinician looking for new growth opportunities, don’t miss the chance to meet with current staff and have all your questions answered about the benefits of working for AthletiCo. “I felt that AthletiCo would not only be a learning experience but also a fun place to work,” says Knight. “Here I am over three years later, and I still love working for the company and have fun at my job!”
