On Saturday, August 18, AthletiCo held its Inaugural Runner's Symposium from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Field. The symposium was an invite-only event for AthletiCo’s endurance affiliates, affiliate high school distance runners, their coaches, athletic directors, and athletic trainers, as well as AthletiCo clinicians. The theme of this year's symposium was “Common Running Injuries: Identification, Treatment, and Prevention from a Multidisciplinary Perspective.”
The symposium marked the first of its kind for AthletiCo and brought together distinguished medical and endurance professionals to present topics to the local running community.
The symposium featured an array of speakers including Michael Chin, DPM; Robert Matlock, MD; Bryan Hersh, DPM; Mark Jones, DPM; Balu Natarajan, MD; Terry Nicola, MD; Carrie Jaworski, MD; and Jenny Lu, MD. Additional speakers included John “The Penguin” Bingham, the popular columnist for Runner's World magazine and one of the running community’s most recognized personalities, and Jim Holden, a senior scientist for Gatorade, as well as AthletiCo staff who specialize in AthletiCo’s Endurance and Nutrition Programs.

The symposium was presented by AthletiCo, its Endurance Program, and AthletiCo University, AthletiCo’s in-house continuing education program.
