Building Better Communities: 2023 PT Day of Service

Each year, Athletico team members come together for an annual Day of Service to impact lives outside of our clinic walls. Athletico has a long history of helping build healthier, more vibrant communities, and our employees share a passion for giving back in many ways throughout the year.

In recognition of Global PT Day of Service this month, 700+ Athletico employees from across our network participated in 52 service projects, volunteering 459+ hours of their time to support the health and wellness of the communities they live and work in throughout the summer.

Lending a Helping Hand in Honduras

Athletico Hand Therapist, Shelia T., OTR/L, CHT recently traveled to Tegucigalpa, the capital city of Honduras, on a medical mission trip with Global Health Outreach from May 27 to June 3, 2023. During her time in Honduras, Shelia had the opportunity to impact the lives of many by leveraging her skills as a hand therapist to construct custom orthotics and braces for those in need.

The Athletico Cares Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to serving Athletico employees and communities, was proud to support Shelia’s trip with a grant, in addition to a generous fundraiser hosted by Athletico’s St. Louis region.

International Women’s Day: Equity in the Workplace

March 8th signifies International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day celebrating women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It is one of the most important days to celebrate women’s accomplishments and raise awareness about women’s equality.

To celebrate this day, we asked leaders to speak on the Importance of Equity in the Workplace. Together, we can take action for a more fair, inclusive, and diverse future.

At Athletico, we believe in the power of advocacy and are committed to building an inclusive environment for all our patients and employees.
