Athletico’s Jeff Stein will serve as the team physical therapist for the Chicago White Sox.

Building off the history of the relationship with the White Sox, Athletico will have an enhanced role in 2013, as they will provide a physical therapist to support the team’s head athletic trainer Herm Schneider.

“Athletico has enjoyed a strong relationship with the Chicago White Sox organization since 2004,” said Athletico president and founder Mark Kaufman. “The White Sox are a tremendous asset to the city of Chicago and surrounding communities due to the overwhelming pride the fans have in the team and all of the great things the organization does to support the community. Extending our partnership to become an official partner of the team was a natural step in advancing and developing our brand and the work we can do together.  We look forward to assisting the Sox in providing the highest quality of healthcare services to these world class players.”

As a part of the new multi-year agreement, Athletico will have an increased presence at the ballpark with signage in the visitor’s bullpen area in right field. Athletico will also sponsor all White Sox Health Care Provider Nights, in addition to a Fireworks Night on June 7, when the White Sox take on Oakland.  Athletico will continue to sponsor the “7th Inning Stretch Cam,” as a way to encourage fans to get up and stretch in order to remain flexible and avoid injuries.

“I have worked in a close relationship with Athletico for many years now,” said Herm Schneider, White Sox head athletic trainer. “Their contributions have enhanced the White Sox sports medicine department by rounding out our staff with a physical therapist to assist us with daily treatments. We also are grateful for the Athletico network in the city of Chicago and the surrounding areas, as we utilize other therapists to assist us with various rehab programs. The White Sox are fortunate to have the opportunity to deal with such a quality organization and staff.”
