In addition, Athletico employees have supported the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago through annual participation in the BBBSMC Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser. For the past 9 years, employees have formed teams and bowled for a cause. In 2015, fundraising for the Athletico event exceeded $50,000 with over 127 bowlers at 5 locations making it a success. The proceeds from this event supported the mentoring matches of 30 at-risk youth in the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs with caring adult mentors.
Athletico also holds several jeans day fundraisers for various charitable organizations. On these days, Athletico employees donate at least $5 to wear jeans to work. Over $40,000 was raised for 24 different organizations this year.
Athletico is dedicated to providing its employees with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Athletico hosts blood drives to emphasize the importance of donating blood. This year’s LifeSource blood drives were held at two Athletico locations where 79 pints were collected. Since one blood donation can save up to three lives, the units collected will potentially save 237 lives
For the second year, Athletico participated in the American Heart Association HeartWalks in 5 locations and Movember’s efforts for Men’s Health. Over $10,000 were raised for these organizations and employees had fun along the way.
A big thanks to all who participated in the 2015 Charitable Giving efforts. “Little ripples making big waves”.
