1. Make a List of Your Health Priorities
Your wellness mindset should be centered around something important to you. A great place to start is to list what is important to you regarding your health. Health priorities can include mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
2. Set a Goal for Each Health Priority
Setting goals is essential to help you stay on track with your health priorities and give you something to shoot toward. Goals should be SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely. They give us a place to start and can be adjusted anytime.
3. Make a Plan to Work Towards Goals
Making a plan helps with accountability. When you create a plan related to a specific goal related to your health value, the odds are in your favor that you will be motivated to achieve your goals. Make one plan for each goal.
4. Review Goals and Plans Regularly
It is important to review your goals and plans regularly. Life changes, priorities change, and when we try something new, we don’t always choose the right strategy the first time. Keep a flexible mindset towards your goals and be adaptable if something isn’t working.
Changing your mindset to be flexible and adaptable to your specific values will improve compliance with the plan.
