March 8th signifies International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day celebrating women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It is one of the most important days to celebrate women’s accomplishments and raise awareness about women’s equality.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is “Give to Gain”, which invites us to reflect on the power of generosity and collaboration in advancing gender equality. We asked Athletico team members to share their personal commitments to this important cause. Together, let’s celebrate the strength of our community and the collective impact we can make!

Gina – Chief Operating Officer
“I will give my voice, my time, and my seat at the table to elevate other women. That means leading boldly and creating clear pathways for growth within our organization and beyond. When we invest in one another, we don’t just advance women, we become One Athletico.”

Ashleigh – PT, DPT, Regional Director
“I will use my voice, my mentorship, and my leadership to intentionally create more opportunities for women to grow, advance, and lead with confidence. By advocating for equitable advancement and ensuring women are represented in key decisions, I can help build stronger, clearer pathways for my colleagues and the next generation of leaders. Gender equality accelerates when we don’t just open doors but actively hold them open for others.”

Diane – MSPT, Regional Director
“Being a woman in the PT field for over 40 years, I have seen many changes. I have always appreciated this field for the flexibility and support it has given me and many others as working moms and parents. I have always let that be my guide for other woman and parents who struggle with this very important dual role. I give them the space, the time and the support needed to succeed in both. A responsible work-life balance is what creates success. I truly want everyone to succeed.”

Annette – PT, MPT, COMT, CMTPT, MBA, Regional Director
“I will give my time, mentorship, and advocacy to support women at every stage of their careers and lives. With more than 15 years of leading teams in our organization, I am committed to sharing my knowledge, building confidence in others, and creating opportunities for women (and all employees) to lean into their strengths while continuing to thrive both professionally and personally. By investing in the development and visibility of women, we strengthen our teams, our leaders, and the future of Athletico.”

Megan – Senior Vice President of Payor Relations
“At this point in my career as I talk to and mentor other women, I give perspective on where to focus efforts, for example, additional certifications versus more networking. We are all time-constrained, so providing guidance to these women on where to invest their time allows them to make more informed decisions to continue to reach their goals and advance.”

Heather – PT, DPT, OCS, CMPT, Regional Director
“For me, gaining gender equality comes with investing in mentoring others whenever possible, but also with having the willingness to speak up and be a voice for other women. Another important part of gaining gender equality is investing time in future generations – including raising both of my kids to see men and women as true equals.”

Tracey – MBA, MSA, RVT, RDMS, VP Clinical Operations
“I am committed to advancing gender equity by intentionally giving my time, treasures, and talents. I believe meaningful progress requires personal investment: showing up, speaking up and supporting organizations, such as Athletico, that create equitable opportunities for all.”
