Just like that, 2024 is right around the corner. As the 2023 year comes to a close, now is a good time to reflect and create goals for what you want your 2024 to look like. When writing goals, make sure they are SMART. What does SMART stand for? Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. Sitting down and writing your goals can guide your decision-making to help determine what habits you want to work towards creating for a healthier New Year. Self-Care for Gymnasts During Competition Season

Gymnasts have a very long season- they usually practice year-round with the main bulk of the competition season occurring during the winter and spring for many levels. Due to this type of training schedule, gymnasts need to make sure they are taking care of themselves during and after practice. COVID-19 has impacted each of us and continues to change our lives every day. The constantly changing news and disruption to our lives has caused us to confront a primal emotion we do not often feel: fear. Fear has forced us into survival mode and increased our stress levels. Practicing self-care is one way to reduce your stress and respond to it in a healthier way. The truth is, we are all trying to cope the best we can. Sometimes, stepping back to work on our mindset is what we need to get through the hard times.
