We are pleased to announce the first ever Athletico Cares Virtual Dance Competition! To encourage movement into the New Year and beyond, we are inviting student and amateur dancers ages 7-20 to show off their moves by learning a pre-recorded dance performed by a member of the Athletico team. Participants will have one hour to learn the choreography, record themselves at home or in-studio performing the dance and submit to our judges who will pick our top performers.
Entry is FREE and winners of each age group will receive a $500 donation to the charity of their choice. Age groups will be determined by number of participants. For more information or to register, please fill out the form below. Registration closes on Friday, January 22nd at 11:59PM CST.

Day of Schedule:
Warmup | 1:00PM – 1:30PM CST
- A 30 minute fitness warm up class taught by one of our experts will be sent to participants as well as posted on our social media channels. Be sure to follow us:
Choreographed Dance | 1:30PM – 2:30PM CST
- We will send a link via email containing the choreographed dance for participants to learn and duplicate.
- You will need to upload your video submission within the hour of when we release the dance (by 2:30PM CST).
- We will provide you with the link for where you’ll upload your recorded video.
- Video formats must be: YouTube, Vimeo or Instagram (set to public so judges can view).
- Please note, the video link will expire after the one hour time limit. Within this hour, you will need to learn, record, and submit your entry.
- The dancer will be judged solely on their ability to perform the piece, costumes and location will not be accounted for in judges scoring.
- Your entry will be critiqued and scored by our esteemed judges (performing arts affiliates and clinicians) identifying a winner for each age group, up to 4 groups.
- The winner of each age group will receive up to $500 to give to a charity of their choice*, Athletico prize pack, and bragging rights (charity must be a 501c3 foundation).
Rules/Regulations:
- Open to dance students and amateurs ages 7-20 throughout Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.
- Videos must be uploaded via YouTube, Vimeo or Instagram within the day and time we specify.
- All entries should be performed to the audio file that is sent labeled “Musical Accompaniment”. Dancing along to the Choreography Video will disqualify an entry.
- Videos that are not of the choreographed dance will not be considered.
- Videos should be filmed in your home or outside as long as environment/surface is safe for dancer. (Video tips will be sent out via email upon registering)
- Submitted videos that are performed in unsafe environments or on unsafe surfaces will not be considered.
- A participant release form must be signed in order to participate in this contest.
- Costume and presentation will not be judged or considered in scoring. Tips on appropriate clothing to wear during competition will be provided upon registering.
- Location of filming or video quality will not be judged or considered in overall scoring.
- All performance videos must be recorded in one continuous take. No video cuts/edits mid-performance will be allowed. This rule is strictly enforced and your dance will be disqualified if not adhered to.
- Our judges will choose a winner from each age groups based on the ability to perform the dance.
- Cash prizes will only be awarded to the charity of choice for the dancer who wins 1st place in each age category.
- Cash prize award totals will not exceed $2,000.
- Prize winner may choose the charity of their choice but must be 501c3 to be considered.
- Judges will have until Sunday, January 24th at 5PM CST to submit their votes. All judge’s scores are final.
- Winner will be contacted and announced on Monday, January 25th.
