Kari Kaplan

Kari Kaplan serves as Athletico’s General Counsel. Kari joined Athletico in 2018 as Assistant General Counsel and most recently served as SVP, Legal Affairs where she was responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the company’s legal affairs. As General Counsel, she oversees the company’s legal, government relations and real estate functions.

Prior to joining Athletico, Kari worked in private practice where she concentrated on corporate transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, entity governance, and contractual and business matters. She has previously been recognized as an Emerging Lawyer in Closely and Privately Held Business Law by Illinois Leading Lawyers, a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers, and by Crain’s Chicago Business in its 2017 Most Influential Women Lawyers in Chicago list.

Kari received degrees in biology and psychology from the University of Iowa and her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
