Regional Work Comp Manager of Indiana

How long have you been a physical therapist?
16 years

How long have you been with Athletico?
I opened the Lawrence, IN (Geist) clinic in 2013 with Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers.

Why did you choose this position?
I helped develop and mentor the area in Work Comp services, since 2013, and I felt I could add leadership to grow and develop the program clinically and onsite in Indiana.

Why did you choose to work at Athletico?
I was driven by Athletico’s mission and vision to help patients and be in a position to help injured workers and also knew this would be an opportunity to grow and develop in my career.

What do you like best about your current position?
Mentoring and coaching therapists to be the best clinicians they can be. I also enjoy taking on additional responsibilities as a manager.

What is your greatest accomplishment in your current position?
Development of team members who want to join the Work Comp Industrial/Onsite program and help it grow further in Indiana.

Areas of Specialization/Other languages spoken?
My skills in manual therapy include Cranialsacral therapy and I am a Certified Ergonomic Specialist.

What do you like best about Athletico/Your current position/Working with your patients?
We are working to individualize care in all aspect of the business to build a relationship that supports every aspect of one’s life from personal, family, sport, work and prevention of injury at home, work or play. We truly show we care for the lives of our patients.

Long Term Goals?
Learn all that I can to be half the manager Diane Newquist [Vice President Clinical Operations-Work Comp] has been for me.

What do you like best about your current position?
Independence, while also having a large support/mentor system

What is your greatest accomplishment in your current position?
Becoming proficient in performing quality, defensible, and evidenced-based Functional Capacity Evaluations

What do you like best about Athletico/Your current position/Working with your patients?
I have experienced a lot of team work and everyone has been very supportive and inviting during my on-boarding experience.

Long Term Goals?
Become recognized as the face and the expert for industrial rehab in the Central Illinois region; grow the service line in this region and develop a large industrial rehab team for this region.

When I’m not working I am…
Spending time with my lovely wife and 6 children, daughter-in-law, and soon-to-be granddaughter; coaching football for my 10 y/o son, coaching softball for my 8 y/o daughter, traveling, yard work, never ending house projects; involved with the APTA/IPTA.
