Graston Technique

The Graston Technique® consists of six patented stainless steel instruments, of various sizes, that assist in soft tissue mobilization techniques. The instruments are used to detect and treat scar tissue and/or soft-tissue restrictions that may be contributing to a patient’s symptoms and limit the ability to perform activities of daily living.

The treatment goal and process of the Graston Technique® is to first “break up” these adhesions by breaking down the collagen cross-links that have been formed and then to realign them with proper stretching and strengthening.

Common diagnosis that work well with the Graston Technique®:

  • Cervical Sprain/Strain (neck pain)
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (wrist pain)
  • Lateral Epicondylitis/Epicondylalgia (tennis elbow)
