| Course Description: | This is a hands-on orthotic course for flexor and extensor tendon repairs of the hand/wrist. Participants will gain an understanding of the anatomical structures and biomechanics involved in both the flexor and extensor mechanisms and surgical repair. The therapist will learn to determine the appropriate therapeutic management and orthotic intervention per pathology and protocol.

1. Review anatomical structures and biomechanics involved in both the flexor and extensor mechanism 2. Identify zone-specific therapeutic management of both flexor tendon and extensor tendon surgical repair 3. Recall a basic understanding of surgical techniques used to repair tendons 4. Practice the fabrication of orthoses for flexor tendon and extensor tendon repairs |
