Falls can lead to serious consequences. One out of every five falls causes a serious injury, such as a broken bone or head injury. Each year, 3 million older people are treated in the emergency room for an injury related to a fall. All falls should be taken seriously, especially if it results in a head injury, broken bones, soreness, or difficulty getting around. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms after a fall, consider being evaluated by a medical professional or physical therapist.
